This help article applies to version 4.2 of epicraft Invoice

epicraft Invoice contains an Invoice, Customer and Item Search that enables you enter a more detailed search criteria than when you´re using Open.

Search is located under the menu option Tools->Search->Invoice, Customer or Item.

This help article provides details how you use Search find an item, but by reading it you´ll also learn the priciples to apply when looking for customers and invoices with Customer and Invoice Search.

How to find items using Item Search

  1. From the main menu, select Tools->Search, Item.

  2. Select Item name from the search criteria drop down.

  3. Select Like as the search condition, from the following drop down.

  4. Enter the first part of the item name you want to find in the following text box.
    In this example we have used our item Widget, exchange this name for your own item name.

  5. Click Search, to find matching items.

  6. Click Open to open the selected item.

  How to use the different Search Conditions
  • Like

    If you search for the Item name Widget and use Like as the condition, you will find all items containing the item name Widget.

  • Starts with

    If you search for the Item name Widget and use Starts with as the condition, you will find all items that starts with Widget.

  • Ends with

    If you search for the Item name Widget and use Ends with as the condition, you will find all items that ends with Widget.

  • Is (exactly)

    If you search for the Item name Widget and use Is (is exactly) as the condition, you will find all items that only are named Widget.

    The search condition will for example not find an item named expensive widget, or widget 123, only Widget.

  • From

    Should only be used with date or number search criteria.

    Could for example be used to find all invoices created on a certain date onwards or all invoices from a certain invoice number onwards.

    If you add the second search condition as To, you could for example find all invoices created between two given dates or invoice numbers.

  • To

    Should only be used with date or number search criteria.

    Could for example be used to find all invoices before a certain date or all invoices having an invoice number lower than the given one.

    If you add the first search condition as From, you could for example find all invoices created between two given dates or invoice numbers.
